Mikel Arteta reveals Kompany’s role in Lokonga’s move to Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed he received former Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany’s consultation over completing a move for Albert Sambi Lokonga from Anderlecht.

The Belgian midfielder arrived at Emirates Stadium on a long-term contract on Monday after completing a move from

And Arteta believes Vincent Kompany has played an important part in Lokonga’s development in his role as manager of the Belgian club.

"Albert is a very intelligent player who has shown great maturity in his performances during his development,"

"He has been coached well by Vincent Kompany and his team at Anderlecht. I know Vincent very well and he talks so highly about Albert and the positive impact he had to Anderlecht in recent seasons.

Mikel Arteta is confident that Albert Sambi Lokonga is ready to make the step up at Arsenal.
