Everton boss is positive that the prolific forward, Richarlison, will not leave the club after the Olympic Games.
has heavily been linked with the Spanish giants,Real Madrid
, in recent weeks. However, Everton manager Rafael Benítez expects the Brazilian forward to stay put at Merseyside, considering that the club has granted him permission to Travel to Tokyo with Brazil for the Olympic Games.
The 24 year-old will consequently miss a large part of Everton’s pre-season campaign and Benítez expects the Brazil international to extend his stay at Merseyside given the club’s support in his international journey.
“I was in contact with him, he had the Olympic Games in the back of his head, we needed to sort out his situation and he is fine,”
Benitez told theclub's official website
“He is happy because he can go there… and he knows he has to give us something back because we were supporting him.
“That could be something we can consider not great in the beginning but will be a massive boost for us in the rest of the season because he will try to deliver.”
