Germany's men's Olympics football team departed the field a few minutes before the warm-up clash against Honduras ended as their player was subjected to racial abuse.
in the clash scheduled for preparation for the 2020 Olympics, which start next week, playing in shorter matches to put their fitness to test in Japan.
The Germans were held to a 1-1 draw at the hands of their Central American opponents, as Germany leveled the game courtesy of Felix Uduokhai’s equalizer.
However, the team left the pitch five minutes prior to the end and on the club’s
account, they announced that the players walked off since their teammate
was subjected to racial insult.
The Honduras have also confirmed the game was over sooner as “an alleged racist insult” was directed at the Germany international.
