Azzuri were able to complete their good process last night and win the Euro2020.
defender Alessandro Florenzi believes that their victory in last night's match against England in the Euro 2020 final showed once again that they are special people and boasted the power of Italy to the world.
Azzuri fell behind last night with a second-minute goal by Luke Shaw, but Leonardo Bonucci equalized in the second half. The game went to extra times and penalties, where Gianluigi Donnarumma saved two penalties. Italy won the Euros for the second time and now Florenzi praised Azzurri.
"We dedicate this to all the Italians all over the world, because we proved once again, if it should’ve been needed, that we are a special people,”
Florenzi told RAI Sport.
“It’s coming Rome, they got one letter wrong… There’s no victory without a group, and I think we showed from start to finish that we are a group and people recognise themselves in us too.
“After the equaliser, we realised that we could win and have our chances to at least get it done before penalties. We had to go to the shoot-out, Gigio and the penalty takers did well. I was going to take the sixth penalty, if it went that far.
It had been too long, but now we will enjoy this fully with all Italians.”
