We have finally arrived at the last day of the tournament, when the best of the best will be finally decided in a final showdown. England and Italy will be locking horns tonight in the hopes of bringing home another major international trophy. While

have the home advantage, Italy are motivated more than ever to end England’s hopes of winning Euro 2020 and cancelling out the “It’s coming home” chants right then and there at Wembley.

But while the two sides are readying themselves for the most important match of the year, there is much to talk about from everything that happened off the pitch and outside of the usual hype. Read on as we go through everything that went on yesterday.

From England being fined £26,000 for their supporters’ behavior, to Gareth Southgate receiving a letter from the Queen of England herself and Ceferin denouncing the current format of Euro 2020, there is much to talk about from everything that happened in Euro 2020 day 30. Not cool, England

The controversy behind the England versus

clash continues with all its strength. There were several moments in the game which would leave many pondering about for minutes. But there were three moments which forced UEFA to fine England a total of £26,000.

The Three Lions were fined by UEFA because England fans booed the Denmark national anthem, set off fireworks at the stadium and later shined a laser pen in Kasper Schmeichel’s face during Harry Kane’s crucial penalty in the extra-time. Even though Schmeichel got to save the initial attempt, Kane converted the rebound to take England into the final of Euro 2020.

A letter from her majesty

It seems that Queen Elizabeth of England herself is invested in her nation’s success in sports, as she has sent a letter to congratulate and wish luck for Gareth Southgate, who has taken England to the final of Euro 2020 after many years. The letter reads:

“55 years ago I was fortunate to present the World Cup to Booby Moore and saw what it meant to the players, management and support staff to reach and win the final of a major international football tournament. I want to send my congratulations and that of my family to you all on reaching the final of the European Championship, and send my good wishes for tomorrow with the hope that history will record not only your success but also the spirit, commitment and pride with which you have conducted yourselves.”

Not my fault

UEFA president Alexsander Ceferin has denounced the current format of Euro 2020, claiming that it won’t happen again. The 53-year-old claimed: “I would not support it anymore. It is not correct that some teams have to travel more than 10,000km while others have to only travel 1,000km.”

The Slovenian continued: “It was a format that was decided before I came in and I respect it. I don’t think we will do it again.” Ceferin’s claims come right when several teams, football players and thousands or maybe millions of football fans have argued and voiced their concern over such an unfair format, which has clearly benefited England throughout the tournament more than any other nation.

You’re fired!

What could ruin your day when your nation has just qualified for the final of Euro 2020 after an intense match against Denmark? Well apparently you could get fired! That is exactly what happened to an England supporter named Nina Farooqi, who was fired from her photography job after she was seen on TV as the stadium cameras zoomed in on her maniacal celebration during England’s goal. “Why would someone be fired for celebrating a goal?” you might ask.

Well, the reason she was fired was because she had called in sick to her job so that she could go to the stadium and support the Three Lions from up close. She found out about her losing the job the next at 6:00 a.m., but asked about whether she regretted her decision, Farooqi claimed: “I’d do it all over again.”
