Marco Rose backs Dortmund’s young talent Moukoko

Marco Rose who is about to start his first season as Dortmund boss is excited to work with Moukoko.

Marco Rose

, who trained

Borussia Dortmund

for the first time this week, has talked about

Youssoufa Moukoko

, insisting that he is excited to work with the Bundesliga’s youngest player and goal scorer.

Moukoko hasn’t been involved with Dortmund’s training because of his injury in Germany’s U21 training at the beginning of April, but the new head coach thinks that the 16-year-old prodigy will be back to action soon.

"He's in integration training, but still individually,"

he said.

"That means he is currently working with a rehab trainer. It's always difficult to make predictions about the timing. But things are looking really good at the moment. I hope that he can start training in the next 10 to 14 days."

Rose insists that although they should make sure that all the young players keep their development going on, they should feel too much pressure.

"The days and hours were counted up to his first outing, up to his first goal,"

Rose, who left his role as head coach at Borussia Mönchengladbach to join Dortmund this summer, said.

"That does something to such a young guy.

"We have to protect it [his talent] and build it up carefully, without slowing it down in any way. I'm willing to encourage such good young players and to throw them into the game at some point."

Moukoko, who has been the youngest player to score in the Bundesliga, will have no priority over other players if he doesn’t earn his place in the team as the coach insists that he won’t receive any special treatment.

"He has to show himself, he has to offer himself, he has to draw attention to himself in training,"

he said
