Tue 06 July 2021 | 18:58

The Ivory Coast international’s representative George Atangana revealed that his client will depart Milan only if a ‘coup d’état’ happens.

Franck Kessie

’s contract is due to end in 2022 and

Milan

want to prevent him from leaving for nothing like

Gigio Donnarumma

and

Hakan Calhanoglu

.

Both players’ deals expired on June 30. The shot-stopper has agreed terms with PSG, whereas Calhanoglu made a move to Inter.

Milan are negotiating to pen an extension with Kessie, but they have yet to reach an agreement.

The 24-year-old’s current deal earns him €2.2m per year at the San Siro and as per reports from

Calciomercato.com

, Kessie demands a pay rise.

Tuttosport

reported that Milan offered him a €3.8m-a-year deal but he asked for a sizable pay rise of about €6m-a-year.

However, he told

La Gazzetta dello Sport

that ‘only a coup d’état’ may result in Kessie departing Milan when the next season ends.

Kessie is part of the squad that will prepare for the Tokyo Olympics, which means he is set to miss the pre-season training with the Diavoli.
