The Spain international is going to have his medical done on Tuesday before joining the Ligue 1 side as a free agent, according to ESPN.

Reports claim that

Sergio Ramos

has penned a two-year contract with

Paris Saint-Germain

The 35-year-old revealed last month that he would depart

Real Madrid

after not reaching an agreement for an extension after 16 years at Santiago Bernabeu.

Bayern Munich

Manchester City

were also keen on signing the veteran defender, but the centre-back decided to join PSG.

The disagreement with Madrid was discrepancies over the deal’s length. Los Blancos wanted to offer him a one-year contract and when Ramos decided to agree with the offer, the deadline was passed.

The Spain international requested a two-year contract. His salary at PSG is lower than at Real Madrid. Ramos will be in Paris a few hours after

Achraf Hakimi

, his former Real Madrid team-mate, who is set to join PSG on a €70m transfer from Milan.

The Moroccan and Ramos’ recruitment will strengthen Mauricio Pochettino’s squad that already have the services of defenders Presnel Kimpembe, Marquinhos and Thilo Kehrer.

The manager was keen on strengthening his defensive line that appeared weak last season when they were defeated at the hands of Manchester City in the Champions League semi-finals.
