Germany star Robin Gosens delighted with Barca transfer talks

Now that Germany has been eliminated from Euro 2020, the full-back is open to discussing a transfer this summer.

After his outstanding

Euro 2020

displays with Germany,

Robin Gosens

has indicated that he is interested in joining Barcelona.

With a goal and two assists, the Atalanta left-back became one of his country's stars as they advanced to the knock-out stage from a group that included France, Portugal, and Hungary.

Barça is allegedly keen on signing him this summer, and the 26-year-old adds that now that Germany has been knocked out from the Euros, he will debate his career with his father, who is also his representative.

Gosens told

Sport1

:

"We'll have a look now. Already during the European Championship, I told my dad that he should just leave me alone with the topic.

"Now I'm back home again; I'll talk to him and see if something is on the program.

"I'm not lying when I say that I don't know anything about it at the moment. My entire focus was on the Euros.

"When something happens, let's see."

Gosens' impactful performances for Die Mannschaft were followed after an excellent season in

Serie A

In 2020-21, the ex-Heracles striker scored 11 goals and provided six assists in the Italian top division, his most productive season since joining in 2017.

Gosens has appeared in 149 games for Atalanta, scoring 27 goals.

He acknowledged his strong Euro 2020 form to Atalanta manager

Gian Piero Gasperini

, adding:

"He had a great influence on it, and these qualities that seem to have slumbered in me a bit were tickled out of me; with the game system in Bergamo."
