The England manager led his side to a 4-0 victory over Ukraine and into Euro 2020 semi-finals.

Gareth Southgate

has praised his

squad for their astonishing performance as they secured a spot in Euro 2020 semi-finals.

Harry Kane

scored a brace for his side and

Harry Maguire

Jordan Henderson

also found the target to seal an emphatic win against

in Rome.

The Three Lions will face Denmark on Wednesday. The England boss took the moment to mention four specific players that have not been played a single minute at Euro 2020.

The players have been fantastic,"

Southgate told

"To play as well as they did in a game where there’s so much resting on it was really impressive.

"It’s a strange feeling. I’m actually, at this moment, thinking of the players that didn’t get on the pitch because the likes of Conor Coady, Ben Chilwell, Sam Johnstone, Aaron Ramsdale - they’re the ones that are making this team successful because the spirit of this group is phenomenal. Whoever comes in does the job."

Southgate revealed that he has had a difficult time choosing the three players to be left out of a 23-man match day squad.

Bukayo Saka, Ben White and Reece James were among the absentees in the game against Ukraine

Southgate added:

“I’m spending more energy worrying about the three I have to leave out of the 26 because they’re all good players, none of them deserve to be left out, they’re all giving everything in training, so none of it is because I don’t think they’re up to the level.
