Roma close in on deal for Wolverhampton goalkeeper Rui Patricio

Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Rui Patricio has reportedly reached an agreement to sign for AS Roma.

, the arrival of the Wolves keeper could be a smart move.

The Serie A club are said to be nearing Wolves’ asking price of £13m for the Portuguese goalkeeper.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Giallorossi have offered an initial £8.6m (€10m) payment plus bonuses.

The 33-year-old is expected to sign a three-year contract with Jose Mourinho’s club at the Stadio Olimpico.

According to reports in Italy, the deal has been struck between the two clubs, as Rui Patricio had already agreed with personal terms some weeks ago.

The 33-year-old moved to Molineux from Sporting Lisbon for £16.2m in 2018 and has been a reliable option in Wolves goal.

He kept 37 clean sheets in 157 games for Wolves and conceded just over a goal per game. He made critical saves in many matches during last season to keep his side in games, and he’s always been an underrated keeper in the league.

Wolves are reportedly looking to replace him with Olympiacos’s stopper Jose Sa.
