Jose Mourinho has asked Nicolo Zaniolo to begin his pre-season training earlier than his teammates and follow the special program he has prepared for him and it seems the Portuguese coach considers him like a new signing as the 21-year-old missed the entire 2020/21 season because of his knee injury.

Jose Mourinho

has called

Nicolo Zaniolo

several times since he took the charge at

Roma

and it seems Zaniolo is going to start his preseason next week, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

Zaniolo is going to start his training in Trigoria on June 29, while the club’s preseason is supposed to begin on July 6.

Mourinho has prepared a special program for the midfielder and he wants Zaniolo to begin his pre-season training earlier than his teammates as Zaniolo missed the entire 2020/21 season because of his knee injury.

He had two knee surgeries in 2020. The first one was in January and the second one in September which was after a Nations League match between Italy and the Netherlands.

The Rome-based paper suggests that Mourinho considers Zaniolo like a new signing and expects a lot from him.

Zaniolo also showed his commitment to Roma with an Instagram story where he put together a few pictures of himself kissing the Roma badge.
