‘Being at Inter is a big deal’ – Calhanoglu happy with Inter move

Former AC Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has said he is very happy to have signed for Inter.

The 27-year-old, who has been at San Siro since he moved from

Bayer Leverkusen

in 2017, scored four goals and provided ten assists last season, and helped his side secure a Champions League spot after seven years.

But he refused to sign a €4-million-deal extension with the Rossoneri and signed a three-year deal with Inter for €1m more per year in wages.

“I am very happy, being at Inter is a big deal,”

he told Inter TV


“It’s a great team, great club, great atmosphere and great fans. I know what it means to come here, it’s a strong sensation.

“We want to win the Scudetto, just like last season.”

Milan were the league leaders for most of the season, but

’s Inter took their place and won the title.

“My first year in Italy was very difficult for me, as I didn’t speak the language. I learned and made many friends in the city of Milan, including off the field.

“I played very well with Stefano Pioli in the last year, as I was able to play in my role.”

“I have already spoken to Inzaghi. I know his tactical system and I really like the conversation we had, I heard some wonderful things.
