The Netherlands international finally joined the Blaugrana but put pen to paper for a short deal.

Following speculations mounting on the 27-year-old’s future with Barca, his move was confirmed on Saturday.
The Blaugrana were interested in signing with the Netherlands star last summer as well as in January, but Depay decided to see out his contract at Lyon and leave on a free transfer.
However, his two-year contract has been surprising to many, but the attacker stated that both parties are okay with the contract.

Depay believes his move to the Spanish giants is a reward for the perseverance he has shown after suffering some difficult times in his career.

He is going to reunite with Netherlands’ ex-coach Ronald Koeman at Camp Nou. The duo worked together for two years when Koeman was managing the national team before joining Barca last Summer.

Depay is contributing to Netherlands’ cause in Euro 2020 as he met the target in both their wins against Austria and North Macedonia.
