“I didn’t quite get over the ball enough, so it is what it is,”

Wales was defeated in a rough game against the Azzurri, and Bale insists that considering the situation that they went through, it was a game that he could be proud of his teammates for it despite the defeat.
“We used a lot of energy,”

He has also talked about the red card that made Wales’ job even harder, saying that although he didn’t see the challenge, he wants to defend his teammate. Ethan Ampadu was sent off after a challenge with Federico Bernardeschi.
“I didn’t see the red card too much, but obviously I’m going to defend Ethand, it was unfortunate,”
