Bayern has targeted Netherlands’ Euro star, Denzel Dumfries

German champions, Bayern Munich, are reportedly monitoring the PSV defender Denzel Dumfries, who has scored two goals and has provided an assist in his 2 Euro 2020 appearances for the Dutchmen.

Sky Germany

has reported that although the Bavarians are interested in

PSV Eindhoven’

s 25-year-old wing-back, they believe his €15m release clause is too high and are willing to negotiate with the Eredivisie runner-ups.

However, Serie A champions,

Inter Milan

,

are reportedly leading the race for Dumfries

as they targeted the Dutchman as

Achraf Hakimi’

s replacement. The Moroccan wing-back will reportedly leave the Nerazzurri with Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea interested in pursuing his signature.

Having made significant outlays to bring in defender Dayot Upamecano and new coach Julian Nagelsmann from RB Leipzig, the Bavarians reportedly do not wish to make any more significant purchases this summer.

Hence, although they are likely to enter the race for PSV’s fullback and would be a potentially enticing destination for the player, they might hesitate to put too much investment in the Dutchman.

Having won both of their Euro 2020 group games against

Ukraine

Austria

 and

Netherlands

have already qualified for the competitions' round of 16 and will face

 North Macedonia

on Monday.
