Tottenham set to fight Juventus, searching for Kane's replacement

Wed 16 June 2021 | 11:15

Tottenham executive Fabio Paratici will reportedly fight his old club Juventus for the acquisition of a new attacker to supplant Harry Kane in North London, as per Tuttosport.

The 27-year-old English forward has already notified his team that he wants to depart in the summer, and Paratici is seeking a suitable successor.

Tottenham and Juventus, according to Tuttosport, have several similar objectives this summer, such as

Gabriel Jesus

and

Mauro Icardi

The Argentinian frontman is expected to depart PSG, and Paratici has long admired the former Inter skipper, whom he brought to Sampdoria 10 years ago from Barcelona.

Paratici is a close associate of Federico Cherubini, the current Juventus director of sports who took over from him at the Old Lady.

They had worked together in Turin for several years and were quite familiar with one other. According to reports, Paratici will bring Juventus' head scout Lorenzo Giani to North London, which means several players who have been linked with a move to Juventus in the past may suddenly be on Tottenham's radar.

It's no coincidence that both teams are interested in Fiorentina forward

Dusan Vlahovic

and

Arek Milik

, and

Andrea Belotti

.

Spurs may not have to compete with the

Serie A

side for the Italy striker, as Torino Chairman Urbano Cairo has stated that he will not sell 'Il Gallo' to the Granata's arch-rivals.

Both teams are intrigued with Vlahovic's teammate Nikola Milenkovic, but Spurs are also keen on Merih Demiral, who was signed by Paratici in 2019 and may leave Turin for €35-40 million.
