The Brazil international is eager to continue playing at the highest level notwithstanding receiving offers that will see him return to his homeland.

According to

Goal

,

David Luiz

is keen on staying in European football after leaving

Arsenal

. The Brazilian made a move to the Gunners in 2018 with a transfer fee of £8 million and proved himself to be their key player.

However, under the reign of Mikel Arteta, the 34-year-old did not get much game time last season, which led to the decision of not putting pen to paper for an extension.

The defender has yet to make a decision regarding his future, but he insists that he aims to continue playing at the highest level. He also prefers to be featuring for a club that has the Champions League or Europa League qualification.

Luiz has many options in Europe, with

Marseille

being one of the clubs that are keen on getting his signature.

The Brazil international started his professional career in his homeland in 2006 when he was featuring for Vitoria. He stayed there for a year before

Benfica

snapped him up.

Many Brasileiro Serie A clubs are keeping tabs on Luiz; such as Atletico-MG, Corinthians, Flamengo, Gremio, Palmeiras and Sao Paulo.

Although the outgoing Arsenal star is not rejecting a return to Brazil, he considers it his last option.

Luiz, who played for

Paris Saint-Germain

once in his career, featured in 73 matches for Arsenal during his two seasons at the Emirates Stadium.

He met the back of the net four times and provided one assist, while also contributing to the FA Cup victory and Community Shield in 2020.
