own goal as the ball hit the woodwork first and entered the net having been touched by the shot-stopper’s arm.

Grzegorz Krychowiak

, the Poland midfielder, committed a foul on Tomas Hubocan, who also got a yellow card due to his indiscretion after the first goal was scored. Only a few seconds into the second half, Poland pushed for an equalizer through

Karol Linetty

, who slotted home from nine yards away, and Slovakia goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka could not save it despite being at full stretch.

Krychowiak’s second yellow card was smoothly followed by a red for the 31-year-old challenge on Jakub Hromada.

In the 69th minute of the clash, Milan Skriniar found the back of the net from the edge of the penalty area after receiving the ball from the corner.

Robert Lewandowski, who was attracting a lot of expectations for the battle against Slovakia, did not show any quality of service for Poland national team on Monday.
