Georginio Wijnaldum joins PSG on a three-year contract

Liverpool midfielder part ways with the Reds to join PSG as a free agent.

The rumors that hit the news a few days ago have officially been confirmed today and

Georginio Wijnaldum

will leave the Reds after five successful season to join the French side,

Paris Saint-Germain

.

Wijnaldum first entered into negotiations with

Barcelona

two weeks ago. His agent had three rounds of positive talks with the Catalan club and even a date for medical examination was set. Barca’s plan was to introduce Wijnaldum as their new signing in the middle of the week, however, a much better financial offer from Paris Saint-Germain persuaded the talented midfielder to change his course to France.

"Joining Paris Saint-Germain is a new challenge for me,"

Wijnaldum said.

"I join one of the best teams in Europe and I am determined to bring my desire and my determination to this ambitious project.

"Paris Saint-Germain has proved its status in recent years, and I am certain that together, for our supporters, we can go even further and higher."

The Netherlands’ captain will join PSG on a three-year contract as a free agent and will play for the Parisians in the upcoming season.
