Barcelona’s experienced star Alba insists that Koeman deserves another chance.

There were many speculations about

Ronald Koeman’s

future after the meetings between him and

Barcelona’s

board around his performance at the club, which ended with Laporta’s decision to look for a new manager and keep the Dutchman if they didn’t find a better option in the next days, which led to keeping the Dutchman.

Koeman didn’t have an impressive first season at Camp Nou, leaving many pundits to doubt his ability to coach a big club like Barcelona. Koeman and his men finished third in La Liga and won the Copa Del Rey trophy, but it can never satisfy the supporters who expect much better results from any manager.

These expectations made Laporta doubtful about keeping the Dutchman, although he decided to continue with the former Netherland head coach.

Despite all the doubts about Koeman’s quality, the club’s experienced full-back

Jordi Alba

supports the coach and insists that he deserves another season to prove himself and is happy that he has stayed.

As per

El Mundo Deportivo

, he said:

“I like all the (summer) signings. Ronald has done a great job since he arrived. We have been improving throughout the season and Koeman deserves to stay at the club.

“The arrival of Sergio Agüero and Eric Garcia seems very good to me. We already knew Kun in football. And Eric is a humble boy who wants to learn, and it is good that people from our youth system come back. In the national squad we have already seen its quality.”
