, who won the 2006 World Cup with the Azzurri, has praised the team’s behavior and the spirit Roberto Mancini has created ahead of the Euro 2020.
In an interview with
, Lippi said:
“I like the team very much, especially the spirit created by Mancini.
“Really good work by Roberto.
“I also like the behavior he has on the pitch, regardless of the players. I have positive feelings because I have seen how they play.
“Italy are beautiful to watch, I enjoy following them. The players approach the friendlies in the right way too, they always want to win.”
Asked whether he sees any similarity between his 2006 Italy and Mancini’s, the 73-year-old replied:
“No, they are distant. But it doesn’t mean anything, as Mancini has demonstrated in his three years of management.
“The players have the right characteristics to be protagonists.”
