Spain will vaccinate the players before Euro 2020

Mon 07 June 2021 | 20:48

Spain players will be vaccinated after Busquets tests positive for Covid-19.

Spain’s

squad will receive emergency Covid-19 vaccinations ahead of the Euro 2020 tournament after Barcelona’s

Sergio Busquets

tests positive for Covid-19. Barcelona’s star will be in self isolate now and will probably miss Spain’s opener against Sweden, and some would say it is already late for vaccination considering the reports that suggest that the Spanish Health Ministry has already requested the vaccines in April, but now they have confirmed that they will rush into vaccinating the players before the competitions start later this week.

Luis Enrique’s

plans have already been ruined with Busquets’ positive test, and he is waiting for the test answers of the other members of his squad to see if there are other infections in the team. The whole team will undergo daily tests now.

There are still concerns about the vaccines’ side effects on the players as they head into the competition just after they receive their vaccines.

The good news for the team is that the Spanish FA (RFER) confirms that there are no other positive tests in Spain’s Euro 2020 squad after today’s emergency tests.

But there will be worries even after the tests with Busquets leaving the squad and entering self-isolation, and waiting for extra precautions.
