Atletico’s Trippier considers a return home

Sun 06 June 2021 | 16:06

The England international is considering a return home, as per reports from The Mirror and Marca.

Kieran Trippier

, who has contributed to the La Liga title win by

Atletico Madrid

and is getting ready for the European Championships in the summer, has been thinking about going back to Manchester.

Manchester United

are considered the favorites to get the English defender’s signature, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is trying to find competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back and he believes Trippier is the right man.

The 30-year-old has proved himself to be defensively capable and he is remarkable going forward.

The England international made a move to Atletico from Tottenham in 2019 and has enjoyed two impressive seasons with the La Liga giants.

Diego Simeone

had faith in him as he featured in 68 matches during his two-year spell in the Spanish capital. He also established a great on-field relationship with

Marcos Llorente

If Trippier leaves Atletico, they will only have Sime Vrsaljko for the right-back role and the Croatian has not played much given his injury history. Llorente has stood in for Trippier there, as well, but it is believed that they will search in the market if they come to that bridge.
