Sergio Aguero will leave Manchester City for Barcelona on a deal that will last until the 2022/23 season finish.

Barcelona has set Aguero's buyout provision at €100 million (£86 million) and stated that the striker would legally sign his agreement today evening at 6 pm local time (5 pm UK time). On Monday afternoon, the club reported that he had passed his medical tests.

He will then be introduced at the Camp Nou stadium and will have a conference beginning at 7 pm (6 pm UK time) on Monday. After his contract with City expires on July 1, the forward will become an official Barça player.

Pep Guardiola told City's all-time goalscorer, Sergio Aguero, that the club had chosen not to renew his contract at the end of March.

The 32-year-old, who joined the club from Atletico Madrid in 2011, has made only a few appearances this season owing to injury and illness.

Aguero, one of City's most significant players, leaves the club after five

Premier League

championships, one

FA Cup

, and six League Cups.

Despite helping Manchester City win the Premier League championship this season, Aguero retired after coming on as a substitute against Chelsea in the

Champions League

final, which his team lost 1-0 at Porto's Estadio Do Dragao.
