Roma have reportedly opened talks with Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka over a deal in the upcoming summer transfer window, according to Sky Italia.
, who was named as
's replacement in May, has asked the club to sign the Switzerland international.
The report adds that formerTottenham
boss Mourinho is a fan and has already begun talks to bring the Swiss international with him to Roma.
The Special One has made no secret of his admiration for Xhaka in the past.
"He is the most important man in the entire Arsenal midfield. He's a true leader."

Roma are already working on the deal and the Gunners will sell Xhaka at around €25m but Roma are hoping to negotiate a deal worth around €10m plus bonuses.
Xhaka joined Arsenal from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2016 for a fee in the region of £30m.
He made 33 Premier League appearances during the 2020/21 season, scoring once, and has featured over 160 times in the league since his arrival five years ago.
