Inter close to appointing Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi

Inter are reportedly close to signing Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi as their new head coach.

According to Italian journalist

are in advanced talks with

Simone Inzaghi

on a two-year deal to hire

Antonio Conte

’s successor.

Inzaghi reached an agreement over a new three-year contract with Lazio president

last night, but he never put pen to paper and Inter came back in with a new bid today.

Inter will pay Inzaghi a reported salary of €4 million, less than a third of what Conte was due to earn in the final year of his contract.

at Inter, who will soon be able to start planning their Serie A title defense.

The former Italy striker took charge of the Biancocelesti in 2016 and has guided them to one Coppa Italia title and two Supercoppa Italiana trophies, as well as qualification for last season’s UEFA Champions League.
