According to New York Times, UEFA are thinking about changing the format of the Champions League to be able to have the semi-finals and the Final in one city.
If they were to do so, it would be a rather smaller version of the Final Eight tournament that took place in Lisbon last summer.
Due to the coronavirus travel restrictions, that change was organized out of necessity and the fixture of the games was hectic because of the suspension.
The new format they have in mind is not dissimilar, but instead of the final eight, it would be for the final four teams featuring in one city in the Champions League week.
Thrilling games were provided in last season’s test. As per reports from the
, UEFA are considering revealing their change of plans for the Champions League’s final stages.
It would have two winner-take-all semi-finals coming instead of the home and away style, which would be followed by the Final, all happening in one city.
It will be announced after UEFA are prepared to scrap the away goals rule.
