Man Utd forward was racially abused on social media following Europa League defeat to Villarreal.

Manchester United

lost the dramatic Europa League final to

on Wednesday night in the penalties.

After the match, Man Utd forward

Marcus Rashford

was subjected to lots of racial slurs on social media.

The English wrote on his twitter:

"At least 70 racial slurs on my social accounts counted so far. For those working to make me feel any worse than I already do, good luck trying.

“I’m more outraged that one of the abusers that left a mountain of monkey emojis in my DM is a math teacher with an open profile. He teaches children!! And knows that he can freely racially abuse without consequence…”

Last month, the English teams boycotted social media for four days to take a stance against online abuse.

Manchester United also made a statement, asking fans to report any kind of abuse they may observe on social media.

The club wrote on twitter:

"Following the [Europa League] final, our players were subjected to disgraceful racist abuse.

"If you see any form of abuse or discrimination, act and report it."
