Real Madrid plans to cash in on Hazard and Bale

Mon 24 May 2021 | 14:46

Real Madrid are open to offers for Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale in the summer transfer window amid their pursuit of Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.

Eden Hazard

has met the target only five times ever since he joined

Real Madrid

two years ago with a transfer fee of £130m.

Due to injury setbacks, the Belgium international has only played in 43 games across the two seasons.

The 30-year-old did not feature against

Villarreal

on Saturday as Los Blancos ended the season sitting second in the La Liga table, two points adrift of the Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid did not grab any major trophies this season for the first time since 2009-10. The European Super League collapse, as well as their interest in Mbappe and Haaland indicates that they need to cash in on some players in the summer.

Aside from Hazard and

Gareth Bale

, Real are open to offers for players like Luka Jovic. Hazard contributed to six trophies, including two Premier League titles during seven seasons he was at Chelsea.

Bale, on the other hand, spent this season on a loan spell at Tottenham, meeting the target 16 times and finishing the season with a brace against Leicester on Sunday.

Bale admitted that he has made a decision regarding his future but will not reveal it until after the Euros as it may ‘cause chaos.’

The Welsh international’s contract is due to expire in 2022.
