Arteta backs Kroenke ownership amid fans protests

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has backed the Kroenke family after their 2-0 victory over Brighton and said the club’s owners are supportive and have ambition.

, with the club’s owners at the Emirates.

The protest was planned ahead of the match, which also sees supporters returning to the Emirates for the first time since the reopening of English football.

Josh Kroenke has been the subject of fan criticism of their ownership of Arsenal, but the Arsenal head coach defended him after the game.

"He's very supportive, very passionate about the club,"

"He wants to take the club to a different level. That's the ambition and that's why he's here."

Arsenal finished in eighth in the table, which means they will be without European football for the first time since 1995-96.
