Sun 23 May 2021 | 20:39

Cristiano Ronaldo has been left out of Juventus’ starting line-up for their final fixture against Bologna due to a technical decision.

Juventus

must win in order to keep their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League alive. Pirlo knows a victory in

Bologna

may not be enough.

However, he decided to start the game with the Portuguese striker on the bench and the news came as a huge surprise for everybody.

According to Italian reports,

Ronaldo

is not injured and was left on the bench due to a technical decision from

Andrea Pirlo

, who has picked

Alvaro Morata

and

Paulo Dybala

to start upfront.

Ronaldo has been dropped for the second time this season, the first time was when he was out of action due to testing positive for COVID-19.

The 36-year-old was subbed off twice this season, both against Inter. The first one in a Coppa Italia semi-final, and the second time last week, when the Nerazzurri visited Juve at the Allianz Stadium.
