Shevchenko interested to go back to AC Milan

Andriy Shevchenko says he would like to return to AC Milan one day but believes the Rossoneri have had a fantastic season regardless of their position in the top four.

"Milan's season has been great. They could not make the most of the game against Cagliari and now they are forced to win against Atalanta," the Ukraine coach told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"A coach is judged on his results, that's the reality. Pioli's work can't be wasted. The team is with him, the results are good. It's never easy to beat Juventus away," Shevchenko continued.

"Unfortunately, anything can still happen, but I am optimistic. Atalanta wasted energies against Juventus and this can be favourable to Milan.

"Ibrahimovic's absence has been felt over the last few games. Everything changes in terms of charisma because Zlatan is a leader, but he has a strong impact also tactically. With him on the pitch, it's a different story for Milan, but hopefully, he will be able to help the team also from the sidelines."

The 44-year-old Shevchenko was asked if he like to return to Milan one day.

"Milan is my home and I'd like to return. If I ever have a chance, I'll make the most of it," he said.
