The Parisiens have long been negotiating with Mbappe over a contract renewal as he’s approaching the final 12 months of his current deal with the club as he has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid and Liverpool.

Mbappe’s teammate, Neymar, has recently signed a contract renewal with the club. However, According to Diario AS, the negotiations with the French forward might get more complicated. Since he’s a France citizen, he has to pay more taxes on his income rather than Neymar.

As a result, the French giants have to pay the French man more to make him have the same amount of salary as the Brazilian winger.

According to

Diario AS

, as a French citizen, doesn’t have the tax exemptions that the recently renewed Neymar, a Brazilian, enjoys. Hence, Kylian Mbappe makes more financial demands to sign a new deal with Paris Saint-Germain as he has to pay a significant percentage of his income for tax.

Although neither finances nor ambitions of being seen on a par with Neymar are Mbappe’s hesitations, by renewing the Brazilian’s contract first, PSG effectively showed who their priorities. Hence, the ball is in Mbappe’s court as he’s to make the final decision over his future with the Parisians.
