Odegaard: I’m happy at Arsenal, but I’m owned by Real Madrid

The Norway international revealed that he will meet with Los Blancos to talk about his future when his loan deal at the Gunners ends.

The Norwegian has been impressing at Emirates Stadium since joining the club in January on a loan spell. He has earned himself a regular start in

Mikel Arteta

’s lineup but has to go back to Spain this summer as no buy-option was included in his loan contract.

"I’m owned by Real Madrid, so we have to speak to them. It’s important to understand what they want."

The Gunners manager said that they have yet to decide on whether they want to take a step forward with Odegaard when the season ends after he has had a great start to life at the club.

One of the 22-year-old’s best performances was in the 3-3 draw with West Ham in March, with Arteta saying:

"I think he had an incredible performance.

"He was very intelligent the way he read the game, the way he affected the game. The way he steps on that pitch and always wants the ball, the way he commands the pressing, he’s been really influential.

"I think we have all been surprised because he looks really shy and humble, but when he steps in that pitch he’s a real character and he loves to play football."

The Norway international has played in 18 matches for the Gunners and met the target twice.
