Valued at €1,276m, Real Madrid are branded as the most valuable football club in the world, followed by FC Barcelona (€1,266m), Manchester United (€1,130m), Manchester City (€1,118m) and Bayern Munich (€1,068m).
According to a report published byBrand Finance
, “consistency in being able to secure Champions League qualification year after year” is the main reason behind the Los Blancos’ financial success.
Due to the pandemic-related financial troubles all the clubs have struggled withinwithin the last year, the brand value of the top 50 clubs have decreased for the first time in 6 years by 3.7%.
However, according to the report, “the consistent influx of Champions League revenues and status has played a central role in Real Madrid’s overall success”, as well as the other top clubs.
English clubs dominate the ranking with six brands in the top 10, Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Arsenal.
Tottenham has overtaken Arsenal in the rankings due to the Spurs’ new stadium, which takes the top spot in Buro Happold’s Venue Performance Rating.
The clubs with the fastest-growing rating in the released report are FC Köln, Leicester City. and RB Leipzig, all recording over 40% growth.
