The Spanish Midfielder joined Arsenal on loan from Real Madrid in the summer of 2019 and a one-year extension was included in his contract. Last summer, Arsenal activated this clause, so, the midfielder continued to play in the Premier League in the current season.
However, it seems neither of the two parties are interested to make the loan deal permanent.
According tothe Independent
, following his red card in their 2-1 Europa League defeat to Villarreal, the Gunners’ boss has opted against extending the midfielder’s stay at the Emirates Stadium.
Although Ceballos still has two years remaining on his Real Madrid deal, the Los Blancos’ boss, Zinedine Zidane, is likely to open the door for a cut-price exit in the region of €15m for the former Real Betis man.
