The former Tottenham star has gone through ups and downs during his football career.
Former AC Milan striker Adel Taarabat claimed he was on the verge of joining Paris Saint-Germain, but the transfer was eventually ruled out.
Tarabat has played for seven different clubs during his 15 years in football, including Tottenham and Queen Park Rangers. He is currently playing for Benfica and now claims that he was on the verge of a move toParis Saint-Germain
in 2011 but was ruled out in the final moments.
Asked if he was near joining PSG, Taarabt toldGoal
"Yes, after my season when I got promoted, yes, it was all done.
"I was speaking with Nasser [Al-Khelaifi] and we were together but he told me we had to wait because Leonardo will be arriving from Inter, but It didn't happen because of fees. I was already in Paris waiting."
Taarabt added on his departure from Milan:
"It's simple. It was Clarence Seedorf who brought me in and after that season [Filippo] Inzaghi came and he had other plans."
Taarabt now plays for Benfica and he believes the club helped him lose the pressure. he said:
"I think I learn from mistakes and do all things right, the club helped me a lot and I felt the pressure to play and started to focus on my football. I enjoy playing with the club a lot."
