Ideal for Barcelona and Atletico, the critical La Liga clash between Real Madrid and Sevilla ended as a 2-2 draw as the Los Blancos needed a late 94th-minute equalizer to reduce the damage from their trip to Sevilla.
Fernando scored the opener for Sevilla in the 22nd-minute, and after an equalizer from Eden Hazard, Sevilla retained the lead with an Ivan Rakitic penalty. However, the German veteran, Toni Kroos, gave the game a dramatic end by scoring a late equalizer.
Furious at full time, Zidane claimed the official’s decision may eventually cost his team the title.
He told his post-match interview withMarca
: “I don’t understand anything from the referee. If there is a Militao handball, it is Sevilla handball as well.
“I am not convinced by what he told me. I never speak about referees, but today I am angry.
“We deserved more because the second half was spectacular from my team and we’re going to fight to the death until the end.”
Currently second in the La Liga table level in points with Barcelona, Real Madrid are two points behind the league leaders, Atletico.
Meanwhile, Sevilla are chasing them in fourth place with 71 points.
