Anton Polster believes Alaba is going to face some challenges in his new journey at Santiago Bernabéu.

David Alaba

’s contract with

Bayern Munich

will expire this summer and it appears that the talented midfielder is going to start a new chapter in his career book in La Liga and at

Real Madrid

.

A La Liga icon in 1990s and Austria’s all-time leading goalscorer,

Anton Toni Polster

, has supported his compatriot ahead of a move to Santiago Bernabéu, saying Alaba is going to face new challenges at Real, but he is an exceptional player who can overcome any difficulty he may face in the future.

“Playing for Madrid is his dream, but it won’t be easy,”

Polster told

Diario AS

.

“At Bayern he’s well-loved and has won many titles. Achieving the same in Madrid is very difficult. But it’s a risk he’s taken, he’s thought it through and now I wish him good luck.

“There’s a lot of pressure for a newcomer. He wanted a new chapter in his career and Madrid will have an exceptional player who can play in many positions; in the center of midfield, the center of defense, at left-back. He can do everything. It’s a good decision, and I think he’s done well by choosing Madrid.”
