Andreas Pereira: ‘I wouldn’t mind staying at Lazio’

Manchester United loanee Andreas Pereira has admitted he wouldn’t mind staying at Lazio.

The

Manchester United

midfielder has spent last season on loan at the Serie A side after falling down the midfield pecking order under

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

 following the arrival of

Bruno Fernandes

in January, 2020.

The Brazilian 25-year-old was signed on loan with a purchase option last summer and has played 23 Serie A games this term, scoring one goal and laying on two assists.

In an interview with TNT Sports, Pereira admitted that his future depends on the Italian club.

“Lazio have the option to sign me on a permanent deal from Manchester United, so it all depends on the Biancocelesti,”

he said

.

“I know my skills have been appreciated this season and they have until end of the championship to decide.

“Roma is a wonderful city and I certainly wouldn’t mind staying here. If they don’t keep me, I will have to speak to Manchester United to see what’s best for the club and me.

“I contacted [United coach Ole Gunnar] Solskjaer to understand my future and he told me we need to talk.

“I just want to play, because I still hope for a call from Brazil for the World Cup in Qatar.”
