As their £50 million summer signing, Ben Chilwell, has impressed the German for the left-back position, Chelsea are keen to raise extra funds by offloading either Marcos Alonso or Emerson Palmieri.
Praised for his attitude and work in training by Thomas Tuchel, Emerson had his loan move to Juventus collapsed this summer while Inter is reportedly monitoring his situation.
However, the fullback has already played a major role in the Blues’ road to European glory. It was the Italian’s goal that produced Chelsea's last-16 Champions League home victory over Atletico Madrid back in March.
Tuchel told reporters after his side’s home victory over Atletico: "I am so happy for him.
"The guy suffers all the time from my decisions. We have three players for one position with Marcos Alonso, Ben Chilwell, and Emerson.
"He is one of the nicest guys you can imagine. He’s always friendly, with unbelievable qualities. It was necessary to give him a reward and give him some minutes as a thank you for his attitude.
"It is not easy because he puts his personal situation aside and he plays his role, which is to give 100 per cent, be super professional and at the same time super nice. Never let anybody down or been in a bad mood. This is fantastic.
"I need to find new rewards for him."
Since the 26-year-old is likely to play a major role for Italy in their upcoming Euro 2020 competition, he will reportedly wait until after the European Championship to decide on his future.
Meanwhile, the Blues prefer to offload Marcos Alonso, who is 30 years old and has a significantly larger salary compared to Emerson’s.
