La Liga has launched an investigation into an alleged breach of Covid-19 regulations after Barcelona players attend Lionel Messi’s house for a party.

It was reported in the Spanish press that Barcelona captain

Lionel Messi

held a gathering and invited his teammates and their partners for a barbecue after his side’s 3-2 victory over

Valencia

.

La Liga are now investigating whether the gathering breached rules that prevent gatherings of more than six.

"Meetings and/or family and social gatherings, both in the public and private spheres, are allowed as long as the maximum number of six people is not exceeded, except in the case of cohabitants,"

Catalan regulations state

.

"However, family and social gatherings and/or encounters that take place in closed spaces, including homes, are recommended to be restricted as much as possible and limited to visits to dependent or vulnerable people and that are always from the same bubble of coexistence."

Barcelona

do not believe the gathering breached COVID-19 restrictions because everybody present was part of the same bubble.
