Guardiola keeps tabs on Barcelona’s Pjanic as Fernandinho replacement

Mon 03 May 2021 | 8:50

Former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola is on the lookout for a potential replacement for Fernandinho in the summer transfer window.

Fernandinho

will depart

Manchester City

in the summer notwithstanding playing a crucial role for

Pep Guardiola

’s treble chasing team this season.

However, the City boss is now searching for a new player before the next campaign starts, with

Miralem Pjanic

from

Barcelona

being his main target, based on reports from Mundo Deportivo.

The 31-year-old has struggled to show his potentials at Barca this season after joining in the summer.

Guardiola may negotiate with Barcelona for a move for the Bosnian international while they also eye Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips.

Should Pjanic join Camp Nou in the summer, Ronald Koeman will probably pursue his interest in acquiring Liverpool’s Gini Wijnaldum.
