The Lazio coach revealed that he will put pen to paper with the club for an extension deal and believes the victory over genoa was well-deserved.

Lazio

are pushing to finish the

Serie A

season in the top four following their 4-3 victory over

Genoa

today.

The lads were so good. We played very well for 80 minutes. We could have scored more than four goals. We have 11 straight victories at home, another record. I am proud to be the coach of these players, we want to finish in the top four,”

the

Simone Inzaghi

coach told

DAZN

.

“We faced a great team, with many quality footballers, we created so many opportunities and it’s not easy against Genoa, we deserved to win.”

The Biancocelesti need to keep the same energy for the remainder of the season.

“It’s our desire, our Girone di Ritorno was perfect, we lost a few points in the first part of the season, but we wanted to qualify for the Champions League last 16 stage.”

When quizzed whether he will sign an extension with the club, Inzaghi said:

“Now we want to have a positive end to the season. I am on good terms with the President, we are not in a hurry.

“Lotito has a few personal issues right now and we play one game every three days. There will be no problems.”

The 45-year-old’s contract will run out when the season ends and a one-year extension deal is on the table.
