PSG boss is hopeful about Mbappe’s situation and thinks that he can play.

Paris Saint-Germain

superstar will probably return for their Champions League clash against

Manchester City

, according to the club’s optimistic manager

Mauricio Pochettino

, who missed his side’s Ligue 1 match on Saturday against Lens because of a right calf injury, hopes that he can return to action to help his side in their fight to overturn a 2-1 home defeat in the first leg.

Speaking to

after the game on Saturday, Pochettino said:

"Will Mbappe be there? I'm optimistic. We think he will be there. We will see how it evolves tomorrow. We will decide before the match.

"We had to win today, and Tuesday [we have to] score two goals and not concede.

"The most important thing will be to win, more than playing good football. We're going to give it a try and we're focused on this City game and the tactics we should put in place."

Pochettino says that the injury occurred in the first leg against Manchester City, but they don’t know how or when it happened.

"He received a blow that could have happened at any time during the match [against Man City],"

Pochettino said at his Friday press conference.

"It can happen. It's not a serious problem but it created a muscle imbalance in the calf."
