For some strange reason, Marcelo may not be able to accompany his team in the return match against Chelsea.

Real Madrid

defender

Marcelo

may miss the second leg against Chelsea due to his electral duties of the Madrid election.

The Champions League semi-final first leg between Real Madrid and Chelsea ended in a 1-1 draw last night, with the return leg scheduled for Wednesday next week at Stamford Bridge in London. In this game, Real may not be able to use their Brazilian defender Marcelo.

According to El Mundo, Marcelo was summoned to oversee the Madrid City Council elections next Tuesday, and therefore could not accompany the Real convoy to London that day.

Marcelo, of course, can accompany Real Madrid with his choice, but the club intends to obtain Marcelo's travel permit by providing justified reasons so that no problems will occur for the player.

Marcelo was on the field yesterday from the beginning, but he could not perform well and was highly criticized. He was replaced by Marco Asensio in the final minutes of the second half.

A similar thing had happened to Levante goalkeeper Aitor Fernandez before, but the club's appeal was approved.
