Individual errors are to blame for Wolfsburg poor run - Glasner

Wolfsburg were thrashed 2-0 at the hands of Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, losing to three of the top five Bundesliga clubs, which are Frankfurt, Bayern and Dortmund.

Erling Haaland

met the back of the net twice and sealed

Borussia Dortmund

’s three points as there are only three games left in the league.

Oliver Glasner

, the

Wolfsburg

coach, spoke to the press mentioning his side’s shortcomings and saw ‘too many individual errors’ which resulted in their defeat.

He said:

“We’re obviously all very disappointed today. Unfortunately, we have to blame ourselves a bit again for the loss. We’ve simply made too many individual mistakes in these games."

When Jude Bellingham was shown a red card, Wolfsburg were given the advantage of going on with an extra player.

Glasner said:

“One thing we need to be a little critical of was that we didn’t take advantage of having an extra man. We wanted to get forward more down the wings and brought on an extra striker in Bartosz Bialek so that we’d have more of a presence in the box. But we didn’t do that very well.”

Glasner went on to hail the Norway international who broke many records.

“When you’re playing a top team like Dortmund with a quality striker like Erling Haaland, they only needed their one chance on the counter-attack.”

Wolfsburg are sitting third on the

Bundesliga

table, with two points in their advantage from the fourth-placed Frankfurt.
