There was an announcement today that caused a huge uproar in the football community. The ECA declared war on UEFA By unveiling its European Super League project, which is due to reveal the new version of the Champions League on Monday.

The Premier League’s ‘big six’ –

Manchester United

Manchester City

, and

– are believed to have signed a letter of intent to join a new elite competition that would replace the Champions League with

Real Madrid

AC Milan

also involved.

The European body was quick to react via a strongly-worded press release to this Super League and reactions have been linked ever since. After France President

Emmanuel Macron

and United Kingdom Prime Minister

Boris Johnson

showed their opposition to this project, it is now the turn of the president of the La Liga

Javier Tebas

to clearly display his anger on this indecent project.

“At last, the ‘gurus’ of the ‘powerpoint’ super league, drunk with selfishness and lack of solidarity, are going to leave the ‘five o’clock bar’, from the ‘underground’,”

he posted on his Twitter account.

“UEFA, the European Leagues and La Liga have been working at this for a long time and they will get their due answer.”
