’s contract is due to expire when the season ends and he may depart

Leeds United

, which leaves Stuart Dallas and Leif Davis as their left-back options.

Based on reports from the

Mirror

,

Marcelo Bielsa

has set his heart on making an addition in the left-back even if nobody departs.

Nicolas Tagliafico

brings credibility to the team, having had a crucial role in

Ajax

when they reached the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2018-19, meeting the target three times. The 28-year-old’s current contract will run out in 2023.

He is also known as a feisty player, having received more than 33 yellow cards during the last three campaigns; however, he picked up only one red card.

Tagliafico said:

“I am the kind of player who an show his skills … But I am also the kind of man who has learnt other strategies when I grew up in Argentina, which I need to use when it is not possible to win with skills and good football.

“What people think about me as a player does not bother me.”

He also stated that he is thinking about elsewhere as he said he is “ready for a bigger move” after “[winning] another couple of trophies”.
